Abstract: We have meassured the Cu2p,O1s, and La3d XPS spectra in La2CuO4+δ(δ~~0.1), at room temperature and 16K, to investigate electronic states. As for the peak positions of the La3d XPS spectra, the difference is not observed between the spectra taken at room temperature and 16K. Energy sifts to the low- and high-binding energy sides are observed, respectively, in Cu2p and Ols XPS lines derived from CuO2 plane. In addition, it is observed that spectral shapes of the Cu2p and Ols XPS lines change with temperature decreasing. These results imply that the amount of the valence charge on a Cu site undergoes a change opposite to that on an O site in a CuO2 plane, with temperature decreasing.
