Abstract:   The purpose of this article is to clarify the Veblens impact on marketing theory and consumer behavior theory. So I take Veblens famous book Theory of the Leisure Class, and reexamine conspicuous consumption and conspicuous leisure. In this book Veblen has used concept of reference groups and lifestyles. After about 50years these concepts had beeb profoundly effect to marketing and consumer behavior theory.
