Abstract: Platelet membrane glycoproteins are responsible for most of the interactions between the platelet and its external milieu. In patients with inherited of secondary bleeding disorders, it is important to analyse platelet glycoproteins. In this study, samples of SDS-solubilized platelets were analyzed by SDS-PAGE using commercial 4-12% gradient acrylamide mini gel, in because we considered that the commercial mini gel was also able to be used analysis of platelet glycoproteins after camparing it with a 16×18cm area of 7.5% acrylamide gel. three patients with failure of platelet function were investigated by PAS-staining method and densitometry and by western immunoblotting method with anti-human platelet glycoprotein monoclonal antibodies. We suggest the process was performed easily and usefully by using SDS-PASE and immunoblotting methods to detect platelet glycoprotein abnormalities.
